Labor Day symbolizes the unofficial end of summer, and there are lots of local events this weekend to help you end the season with a bang. In 1884 New York City selected the first Monday in September as the “Workingmen’s Holiday”. And in 1885 Labor Day was celebrated in industrial centers of the country.
The vital force of the American laborer help make this nation the greatest economic and free democratic power of the world. We have so much to be grateful for, please take a moment this weekend to pay tribute to the resilient strength and leadership — the American worker.
