Osceola Garage Automotive Center Helps Teens
“Stay Safe Behind the Wheel”
in Putnam and Westchester Counties
Did you know that approximately 4,700 teens are killed each year due to adolescent drinking, and every 90 minutes, a teen dies as a result of either underage drinking, illegal substances or distracted driving? This continues to be a major concern for many parents today.
To help keep everyone safe on the road, Osceola Garage in Baldwin Place has developed an automotive clinic directed toward educating teen drivers and college students on how to stay safe on the road and behind the wheel. However, since safety should be everyone’s priority, drivers at every level of experience are invited to attend and can benefit from the information.
This clinic will not only consist of valuable safety tips but will also feature safeguards for handling emergencies. Teens will learn that staying safe behind the wheel incorporates a balance between following the rules of the road, and how awareness of their actions can prevent causing harm to other drivers. The clinic serves as a step‐by-step guide to driver safety, lowering stress and enjoying years of fun‐filled driving.
The clinic will feature guest speaker, Bill Wilkens, who has served on the Board of Directors for the National Council of Alcoholism and Drug Dependencies, Putnam Co. CTC Coalition, Putnam County Youth Board, and is a frequent speaker for victim impact panels. Osceola Garage is delighted for the opportunity to have Mr. Wilken’s impact on distracted and impaired driving.
This clinic will be held on Wednesday, September 28th, at 6:00 p.m., at the Somers Library, Route 139 Reis Park, Somers, NY.
We encourage all teens and parents to attend; we ask that you reserve a seat and please register at the Somers Library by calling 914‐232‐5717.
