Basketball Movement: Elevating More than Just Your Game

I was first introduced to the Basketball Movement before it had that title. Witnessing firsthand what the Movement was all about, I quickly realized that it meant a lot more than just improving my basketball skills.

Robert Yanders, the coach behind the Movement, brings his intensity and intrinsic motivation to training sessions. Despite his smaller stature, he outworks everyone else and maximizes his strengths. Training with Robert was physically demanding, but it pushed me to new limits and made me realize what I was capable of achieving.

One of the most important lessons I learned from the Basketball Movement was the power of mind over body. During a grueling workout, Rob challenged my friend Derrick and me to run lines within a specific time frame. Each time we failed, he reduced the time, pushing us to keep going. Despite our exhaustion, we persevered and surpassed our initial goals. This experience taught me the discipline and determination required to achieve even the toughest objectives.

The lessons I learned from Robert extended beyond basketball. I applied them to various aspects of my life, including school and work. In fact, Robert’s mentorship led me to pursue my passion for writing and contribute to The Basketball Movement blog.
